Blacksticks Blue cheese is the smoothest, most creamy blue cheese around. It packs just enough blue bite to keep those tastebuds tingling. This 150g pack is the perfect amount for most occasions.

A gold award-winning blue cheese, Blacksticks Blue is the original contemporary farmhouse blue cheese. Made with love, using traditional handmade methods, with rich milk produced by the herds of Butlers family and friends all within a 10km radius of the Lancashire family dairy.

It is crafted in open vats, then poured into individual moulds, turned by hand and matured under the watchful eyes of our cheese experts.

Blacksticks Blue has proudly won a Gold Star at the Great Taste Awards 2021 and a Silver Award for Best Cheese made by a novice cheesemaker at the International Cheese & Dairy Awards 2021.

Butler's Farmhouse Cheese

4th Generation family cheesemakers, based in rural Lancashire. Handmade farmhouse hard, soft and blue cheese.

The home of Blacksticks Blue, Button Mill and Sunday Best amongst others.

Vegetarian

All Butlers cheeses are made without animal rennet, making them suitable for vegetarians. Food labelling laws in the UK mean that labels do not always require processing agents to be listed, of which animal rennet is one, however all of our cheese packaging is clear and proudly states that our cheese is suitable for vegetarians.

Blue Cheese ... love it or hate it?

Butlers Blacksticks Blue over the year’s it’s been described as 'the Blue Cheese for people who don’t like blue cheese!?’ When people give it a chance, they genuinely love it. However, the amount of times over the years we’ve heard ‘oh I don’t like blue cheese’ when sampling is too many to bear thinking about! So, we though it was about time we got to the bottom of this ‘fear’ of blue cheese once and for all.

We surveyed 2000 adults in the UK. A whopping 60% admitted they have gone to extreme lengths to avoid trying something new to eat – including sneaking it into the bin (55%), feeding it to the dog (38%) or hiding the evidence in a napkin (35%).
