Old King Coal Charcoal Cheddar Cheese

Looking for a cheese that really stands out? Old King Coal Charcoal Cheddar Cheese by JJ Sandham is a striking black cheddar produced in Lancashire from mature Cheddar blended with purified activated charcoal.

Despite its unusual appearance, this charcoal cheddar has a deliciously creamy, smooth texture with a rich, well-rounded mature Cheddar flavour. The activated charcoal gives the cheese its distinctive black colour, making it a real talking point on any cheeseboard.

Each 200g charcoal cheese truckle is perfect for serving with crackers, chutney and fresh fruit. Its dramatic colour also makes it a fantastic choice for cheese gifts, grazing boards and entertaining.

Produced by JJ Sandham, traditional family cheesemakers in Lancashire since 1929, Old King Coal is an unusual British cheese that's every bit as delicious as it is eye-catching.

Perfect with: crackers, fig chutney, grapes and a glass of red wine.
