October 2026 – Where to Find Us 🧀🍂

Okay… we’re a little late with this month’s Where to Find Us blog! October seems to have disappeared in a blur of cheese, markets and getting ready for the busiest (and cheesiest!) time of the year.

We’ve already had a brilliant start to the month, but there are still plenty of chances to find Bowes Dairy Produce out and about before October is over.

So, diaries at the ready – here’s where we’ve been and where we’re heading this October…

🍎 3rd–4th October 2026

Beetham Nurseries Apple Weekend

We kicked October off with one of our autumn favourites – Apple Weekend at Beetham Nurseries!

A whole weekend celebrating all things apple, autumn and local produce, with fruit pressing, live music, family fun and a Farmers Market packed with fantastic local producers.

Of course, where there are apples, there should definitely be cheese… so naturally we brought plenty! 🧀🍎

Preston Flag Market – The Makers Market

🕙 10am–4pm

Next stop was a little closer to home at Preston Flag Market.

The Makers Market brings together a brilliant mix of independent makers, bakers, creators and food producers right in the heart of Preston – and we were there with the Bowes Dairy stall packed full of cheesy favourites.

There’s something particularly dangerous about saying “I’m just having a look around the market…” You never come home empty-handed! 😂

Lancaster University

📍 Lancaster University, Lancaster

Back to campus! 🎓🧀

We love our regular visits to Lancaster University, bringing a proper Lancashire cheese fix to students and staff.

From lunchtime treats to stocking the fridge (or simply buying a block of cheese that mysteriously disappears the same evening 👀), we always enjoy our university days.

Garstang Makers Market

📍 Garstang, Lancashire
🕚 11am–4pm

We headed to lovely Garstang for another fantastic Makers Market.

Independent traders, delicious food, handmade goodies and plenty to browse – exactly how a Sunday should be.

And, obviously, we brought the cheese! From traditional Lancashire favourites to something a little more adventurous, there was plenty to taste and take home.

Flowers AGM

📍 Ribby Hall Village, Lancashire

Something a little different from our usual markets!

We headed to Ribby Hall for the Flowers AGM, with plenty of Bowes Dairy cheese in tow.

Because let's face it – meetings are always better when cheese is involved. 🧀😉

Lancaster University

We're heading back to Lancaster University for another cheesy visit!

We'll have a selection of our popular cheeses with us, so come over, say hello and pick up your favourites.

Carlisle Carnivale featuring The Winter Droving

📍 Carlisle City Centre
🕛 From 12pm

This one should be a good'un!

We're heading north to Carlisle for a huge day of live music, street performances, markets, entertainment, a funfair and a spectacular twilight procession.

The event brings some of the wonderful spirit of the much-loved Winter Droving to Carlisle – and we'll be joining the market with plenty of cheese to keep everyone fuelled for the festivities.

Our final Lancaster University visit of October!

By this point, we're officially allowing the words “Christmas cheese” into conversation… 🎄🧀

So whether you're restocking the fridge, picking up an old favourite or starting to think about festive treats, come and find us on campus.

Preston Friargate – The Makers Market

We're finishing October right back in Preston – and on Halloween! 🎃

Friargate will be filled with independent makers, artisan food, drinks and plenty of things to discover, and you'll find the Bowes Dairy stall amongst them.

We'll bring the cheese. You bring the appetite.

And don't worry – no tricks, just treats… preferably cheese-shaped ones. 👻🧀
